Renovation and expansion following fire damage

Located in a spacious building in the heart of Newtown, Bucks County, Isaac Newton’s restaurant maintains a long tradition as a local gathering place for family and friends. A thriving after-work crowd enjoys the comfortable tavern bar and restaurant where over 350 types of beer are featured, and a menu of solid good food is served.

When a fire in 2002 destroyed the building, the owner called upon Breyer to expand and renovate Newton’s, providing much need space and a fresh décor—the original footprint measured 4,000 square feet with the expansion adding a sizable 3,000 more. Breyer enlarged the overall length of the building and a good portion of the seating area was moved to the second floor allowing for a 100 percent increase in the bar area. A basement kitchen was relocated to the first floor, and totally revamped to accommodate the anticipated demand produced by the increase in seating.

Critical to a project such as this is down time for the business, and despite delays in variance and permits for the expansion, the entire renovation was completed in 11 months. Today Isaac Newton’s continues to be a landmark in the historic town, catering to an ever-growing clientele of satisfied customers.
